Effective Sparse Recovery Framework for Ultrawideband Robust Plane Wave Generator

This letter proposes a novel ultrawideband plane wave generator (PWG) design methodology suitable for low-cost small anechoic chamber. Several strategies are proposed to handle various crucial concerns in practice make the reliable and robust. Specifically, subarray-based amplitude-only excitation method is capable of reducing required number control channels without need phase shifters, which can significantly simplify feeding network complexity. One major concern PWG application nonnegligible multipath reflections chambers. Thus, regression approach, imposing constraint maximum energy outside quiet zone (QZ), implemented suppress reflection level. For layout, compressed sensing-based adaptive backtracking orthogonal matching pursuit (ABOMP) algorithm proposed. In simulation, spherical test supporting frequency over 2.4–5 GHz synthesized with methodology, effectiveness robustness comprehensively investigated.
